In Latest West Bank War the Goal of Hamas Is to Turn World Against Israel

For Hamas I think, the victory image is what’s happening in Israel proper. They have managed to do what all Arab countries and the PLO [Palestinian Liberation Organization] headed by legendary Yasser Arafat have not managed to do, which is to unite the Palestinians in Israel, the West Bank, Gaza and around the world against Israel.

In the U.S. on May 18, 2021, hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators took to the streets around the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C., to protest Israel’s response to a barrage of rocket attacks from the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas.

Protesters at the rally, who came to Washington from all corners of the country, gathered to condemn what they view as unjustified and excessive military action from Israel. Attendees could be heard shouting anti-Israel slogans throughout the day, including “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Another chant heard throughout the afternoon was far more direct in calling for the end of Israel. In unison, hundreds of attendees shouted, “Hey, hey, ho, ho, Israel has got to go.”

In the U.S., Black Lives Matter said it stands with the Palestinians in their war with Israel.

“Black Lives Matter stands in solidarity with Palestinians,” the advocacy group tweeted on Monday. “We are a movement committed to ending settler colonialism in all forms and will continue to advocate for Palestinian liberation. ( always have. And always will be ). The Palestinian leadership of the global Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions movement, which calls for the academic and cultural boycott of Israel, retweeted BLM and expressed gratitude for their solidarity.

Behold, a day is coming for the Lord, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle. On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward. And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him. … (Zechariah 14:1-21)
