Nebraska Health Education department will take public comments online in writing and at the April 2 board meeting for the proposed Nebraska Health Education Standards. Written public comments must be received no later than noon on April 1 by emailing ryan.foor@nebraska.gov. Below are excerpts from the draft proposal that outlines what gender inclusive topics instructors will be expected to teach.

Kindergarten: Discuss different kinds of family structures. (e.g. single parent, blended, intergenerational, cohabitating, adoptive, foster, same-gender, interracial).

Fifth Grade: Use medically accurate names for body parts, including genitalia.

  • Explain the human reproductive systems, including the external and internal body parts and their functions, and that there are natural variations in human bodies.
  • Explain how culture, media, and other factors influence perceptions about body image, gender roles, and attractiveness.
  • Define the functions of sperm and egg cell in human reproduction.
  • Define STDs, including HIV, and clarify ways they are transmitted and prevented.

  • Define and explain differences between cisgender, transgender, gender non-binary, gender expansive, and gender identity. HE.6.7.2.c: Define sexual identity and explain a range of identity.
  • Discuss the ways people express their gender and how gender-role stereotypes may limit behavior.

Jesus Christ Fights Back With God’s Word

The three stages of education within Judaism during the time of Jesus were Bet Sefer, Bet Talmud, and Bet Midrash. Each stage included specific age groups of Jewish boys. Girls also participated in Bet Sefer.

Bet Sefer means “House of the Book.” Education usually took place in the synagogue where the focus was on readingwriting, and memorization of the Torah (Pentateuch): Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy.

The attacks of the devil will not stop but parents can fight back by following the ways of the old rabbis. In kindergarten teach your child to read, write, and memorize Genesis. In first grade move to Exodus. Second grade Leviticus. Third grade Numbers. Fourth grade Exodus. Fifth grade work through the four Gospels. In this way your child will know the Truth that sets all men and women free from sin and can refute the lies of Satan.

Satan has his army but the army of Christ is mightier. Jesus learned in Bet Sefer, “House of the Book.” Should not your child do the same?
